Our Mission

Our philosophy is to mold not only our dancers' technique but their spirits as well. We believe in a structured, positive learning environment that builds character and challenges the individual. We aim to provide a fun experience for the entire family through special opportunities for participation throughout the year. Our June recital will highlight the dedication of our dancers in ballet, tap, jazz, cheer, acro, and hip-hop. Our commitment to family values includes keeping our quality instruction at a competitive price. Our instructors are highly knowledgeable, coming from sound educational backgrounds in school counseling and exercise physiology. They use this expertise and experience to provide challenging and engaging dance training. Abundance Academy of Dance separates from its competition by providing a patient, low-pressure environment enabling your child to grow at his/her own pace.

Abundance Academy of Dance is conveniently located on New London Road, just a few minutes from Delaware and Maryland. Next to a beautiful park, the studio is located within The Shoppes at London Britain in Landenberg, PA. Our studio has spacious lobby and a two-way observation window for parents to enjoy watching their child reach, create and bloom! The plaza also houses a pizzeria, café, hair salon, nail salon, gas station and produce shop.

Abigail Sites, Executive Director

Miss Abby has studied, competed and taught multiple varieties of dance including tap, ballet, jazz, gymnastics, and cheer for two decades. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology & Women's Studies from the University of Delaware and her Master's degree in School Counseling from Wilmington University. While living in Delaware, Abigail has been an active part of the local community through her schooling, employment and volunteer work. She is currently the school counselor for West Park Place Elementary in Newark, Delaware. She worked with the Youth Exercise Program at the YMCA, taught motor development classes at The Little Gym and directed the City of Newark's Dance Program for several years. She has served as a full time counselor for the non-profit organization, Camp Dream Catcher in Kennett Square, PA. She has successfully trained dancers that were accepted into Cab Calloway School of the Arts. Miss Abby has enjoyed choreographing routines for local schools to encourage all kids to get moving! Miss Abby has a strong commitment to helping children evolve into their best selves!

Emily Brumbach, Instructor

Miss Emily has trained in many different styles of dance, including ballet, jazz, and modern. She studied and performed with Berks Ballet Theatre, a pre-professional company in Reading, Pennsylvania. Emily has attended various summer programs, including Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, where she participated in the Big Sister program, and Saratoga Summer Dance Intensive with a faculty comprised of New York City Ballet dancers. She is currently majoring in fashion merchandising at the University of Delaware. She continues to perform and dance as a member of Nova Dance Company, Delaware Repertory Dance Club, and the Dance Minor Concert.

Teagan Thomas, Instructor

Miss Teagan is currently a Senior Elementary Education major at the University of Delaware. In addition to teaching at Abundance Academy of Dance, she is also an ArtsBridge Scholar at the UD where she works to integrate dance into the academic curriculum, something she is very passionate about. Teagan also teaches dance at Delaware Dance Company and has taught ballet at the Western YMCA and First State Gymnastics in past years. Besides dancing and teaching, she has an interest in fashion publication and is the Editor-in-Chief for UD's magazine, UDress. Teagan is looking forward to her first year with AAD and is very excited to work with such a welcoming staff and talented dancers!

Rachael Abremski, Instructor

Miss Rachel is currently a Junior Nursing major at the University of Delaware. She has trained in a variety of styles including hip hop, jazz, contemporary, poms, and kickline. She has gained valuable experience from attending many dance workshops, including the Disney Dancin' workshop in Walt Disney World and Monsters of Hip Hop workshops with Laura Edwards and JaQuel Knight. Miss Rachel is also the Vice President of Dance Education for UD's Delaware Repertory Dance Company and her choreography has won numerous first place awards at dance competitions. Miss Rachel is very excited to become a part of AAD so that she can share her experience with her students to help them reach their dance goals!

Chelsea Portenoy, Instructor

Miss Chelsea has trained and competed in the styles of jazz, ballet, modern, and hip hop for over a decade. In her hometown of Rockville Centre, NY, she choreographed for groups both big and small. In high school, she served as captain of 250 dancers, which resulted in victory at the 96th Annual Red and Blue Meet. Currently, she is enrolled in the University of Delaware as a University Studies major. Chelsea is very excited to be apart of the AAD family and is looking forward to an amazing year.
